DI4...

Attended prayer meet today, felt so lonely as the only guy frm DI4... Supposingly... Jeremiah organised a caregroup for DI4 yesterday... But sigh... IT was cancelled AGAIN because the guys had to report back camp early... Reuben couldn't attend service on Saturday also because he had guard duty... neither could Jeremiah because of his range [shooting]...

Army is a step in life which all the boys have to go through...
For those who are super enthusiatic abt it, or for those who couldn't care less...
It is still something that all guys have to go for...

Being in it now, all I can say is... it's all about endurance, and keeping yourself mentally fit...
"You go in healthy, you might not come out like how you were initally"

Eventually all guys [regardless how enthu they were initially] will see SAF as a lousy organisation...
The army highly promotes defence for Singapore... [Without us, no defence for Singapore ]which is true...
But yet they pay us a mere $350 for normal administative duities, $450-$500 for military work, $600-$700 for sergeants and $1000++ to lieutenents and higher so forth... Yet they don't allow us to have part-time jobs outside... how are we gonna survive...

And in the army organisation, it's all about power...
If you are able to climb higher, you get more money, power and say...
And so, there are cases where superiors use power to settle their unhappiness/differences childishly.

Sometimes, the army also makes ridicules demands which burns up our weekends... and our time to be with our loved ones... and making the sick run errands too...

In the army, nobody cares abt being kind or polite...
You hear guys being the most frank, and if they lose something, they steal others...

Honestly, it's all abt survival...
And living in these kind of enviroment...
We need the gospels of God more than ever...

I know what the guys are going through, and the depression they go through everyday in camp. If you read Reuben's blog, you'll know what I mean...

For all DIans who are reading this...
I ask for your favor in praying together for us, DI 4...
As we seldom get to meetup for caregrp, not to even mention shepherding... and sometimes... we miss so much services and activities in church...

So guys... could you pls pray along with me...

"Father Lord,
As the boys from DI4 are growing into men, help them and lead them to be Men of God and not men of men...
Please grant them wisdom and strength too as they go through day by day...
Do not let the devil lead them away...
Please watch over them and bless them with health as they go through their tough trainings...
Also let them reachout to the camp mates too so as to bring them into your glorious kindgom...
We are all your sheep who gives our whole heart and soul to you, O Lord!
In Jesus name we will always pray, Amen"

Let us remind ourselves too on this verse, shall we?

Oh, I've registered for the new membership class on the 7th June... Yeah!!!

A badge that burned my saturday for some silly walking of 32km at P.Tekong.

Well, I didn't walked though but my friends did...
Carrying a heavy load abt 10kg on their back, they had to walk abt 24km of forest path, thereafter walk through a river, walk a few kilometers more, arrive at a range and shoot at the targets given ten bullets... All these done over the Friday night & Saturday morning. And ALL THESE DONE JUST FOR A STUPID BADGE...

Honestly, everyone in my camp claims that... "SAF is really just a *wayang* corporation" and we feel it should just be renamed as 'Singapore Acting Forces'
*Meaning - Full of soap acting...


Some sergeants rebukes that SAF is indeed a good organisation but the 'leaders' within ruined it. They make use of their ranks/power to show off their immaturity & negliance. Thus leaving the organization all messed up.

Just because of SAF, I'd missed so many of my services... Making me miss so much this and that...

I juz dun undersand why is it that "they" are so in loved & devoted with such a barbarian occupation?
