Fans of Dan Brown’s best selling novel “The Da Vinci Code” will be happy to know that the casting of the movie has been complete.

Months ago, director Ron Howard confirmed Tom Hanks to play lead character Robert Langdon, and French actress Audrey Tautou will play cryptographer Sophie.

Now, none other than Gandalf – Sir Ian McKellen, has joined the project. He will play Sir Tea-bing.

Alfred Molina , who played Dok Ock in Spiderman 2, will play the key character Bishop Aringa-rosa.

The controversial book, which received rave reviews for its thrills, but harsh criticism for its anti-Christianity content, was a best seller for over a year.

The movie is set for release at the end of 2006
